With no artist taking home more than one award, the 2024 Music Victoria Awards were a celebration of diversity in the Victorian music scene.

Music Victoria have unveiled all the artists, venues, and festivals who have taken home honours at the 2024 Music Victoria Awards, with the ceremony taking place at Naarm/Melbourne’s Federation Square this evening.
The awards were this year marked with an interesting event, namely in that for the first time in a long while, no artist took home more than one of the many awards on offer this year. Those that did leave with new honours to their names were part of either the group of public or industry-voted awards.
Leading the charge on the public-voted awards was Good Morning who took out Best Song Or Track with Excalibur, while Best Album was awarded to Gregor’s Satanic Lullabies.
Audrey Powne was honoured as Best Solo Act while RVG took out Best Group. DJ PGZ was named Best DJ, while ZÖJ rounded out the public awards as Best Regional Act.
On the industry side, Cheryl Durongpisitkul took home Best Musician, while Best Producer went to Lauren Coutts. The Amplify Award was handed to Saint Ergo, while Wild Gloriosa was given the Diaspora Award.
Alongside genre wins for names such as Pizza Death, Gretta Ray, JahWise, and more, St Kilda Festival and NYE On The Hill took out Best Metro and Regional Festival, respectively.

The Corner Hotel and Northcote Social Club took out the Best Large and Small Venue (Metro), respectively, while Best Regional Venue for more than 50 gigs went to the Torquay Hotel, and The Sound Doctor in Anglesea took out the award for under 50 gigs.
“It is inspiring to reflect on a Music Victoria Award's impact on our artists, venues, and festivals," said Music Victoria CEO Simone Schinkel. "Previous winners have often shared how these honours elevate visibility and recognition, and this year's nominees and recipients are worthy of it all.
"Beyond this celebration, Music Victoria’s year-round work on behalf of our members continues – maintaining our unwavering focus on ensuring that local music is valued, accessible and enjoyed by all Victorians.”
The event was also marked by a slightly bittersweet moment, however. While both Australian youth music organisation The Push and influential musician Ollie Olsen were announced as inductees into the Music Victoria Hall Of Fame earlier this month, the latter’s induction was a posthumous one, with Olsen passing away only last week.
