Amazingly talented, Krall created record-perfect music and displayed an unexpected humility and vulnerability that was endearing and charmed the pants off an already admiring crowd.
She was charming, charismatic, sexy, inspiring and simply an extremely professional performer.
It was a truly inspiring performance and cathartic experience. Hopefully Australia doesn’t have to wait another ten years for her to come back.
The evening was an amazing exploration into the relationship between sound and visual, and as the audience departed, there was a shared understanding that they had just experienced something extraordinary.
Although Frank Ocean’s surprise absence was a shame, young New Zealand songstress Lorde was great late addition and wowed the crowd with her confidence and sleek delivery.
Parker admitted it was their first time headlining the venue, which must mean that they are a “super massive band with lots of fans”. One look around the room confirmed this.
Old and young alike bounced to every song and belted each catchy chorus like it was their last chance.
It was just a shame that the intricacies of the mix were not crisper; sadly the bass and treble overpowered the detail, which was a flaw of the venue not the artist.
Overall an amazing experience, like no other.
A different audience may have heightened the black humour of the piece, as there were a number of occasions where more audience interaction felt necessary.
