There was a special vibe in the air as a crowd of 3000 gathered in the Big Top at Luna Park to celebrate Wednesday night with a bang. There was a real sense of achievement floating around, as every person in the room, artists included, had donated at least four hours of their time to help out in their local communities in exchange for tickets.
The night kicked off with an amazing set from The Veronicas. Clad in skintight black body suits, the gorgeous duo rocked the stage with a mix of new hits and some of their older stuff, the highlight being an emotional performance of the girls' power ballad You Ruin Me, which saw members of the audience waving cigarette lighters in the air (apparently people still do that?!).
Next up was US artist Raury who within seconds of being on stage had the entire crowd worshipping him with their hands in the air, and within minutes was half-naked. The set reached a euphoric point when Raury was joined by Joey Bada$$ up on stage.
Just when we thought it couldn't get any better, Peking Duk took the stage and ramped up the excitement level by about 10,000 notches. As the guys went mad, the crowd went mad with them. Dripping with sweat, with clothes being torn off, renditions of SAFIA-featured track Take Me Over and Eminem's Lose Yourself were huge moments.

But the show-stopper of the night was Wiz Khalifa, who exploded onto the stage, telling everyone to "put your mother fucking phones down and jump around". Khalifa worked the crowd, jumping off the stage and getting right among it, to the point where one audience member was able to steal the shoes right from his feet. "Ain't nobody took my shoes in my life," he said as the shoe thief waved them in the air. The highlight of his set was his grand finale of When I See You Again.
