"The album showcases strengths in both artists as vocalists and songwriters."
The a cappella introduction to Comb That River sets the tone for the whole album.
The new release from Josh Rennie-Hynes and Steve Grady, known together as The Ahern Brothers, is one of honesty, sorrow and tranquillity. Swimming in reverb and acoustic guitar tones, the album showcases strengths in both artists as vocalists and songwriters. While the tunes are simple, they are thoughtful, well constructed and respectful of their influences. Bury Me Here has moments reminiscent of Simon and Garfunkel, Call, My Lover closer to Jose Gonzales and James Taylor.
