"His 11th album is reliably inconsistent."
Dedicated To Bobby Jameson is a concept album of sorts, inspired by the real life LA musician who resurfaced in 2007 after 35 years of silence and having long been presumed dead.
Needless to say Ariel Pink, one of the most obstinately unconventional voices in alt-pop, felt a connection. His 11th album is reliably inconsistent, but has two of his strongest songs; cautionary tale Another Weekend and the sun bleached pop of Feels Like Heaven, which despite being one of Pink's most conventional tunes, still has a halo of weirdness around it.
