Album Review: Arca - Arca

Apparently it was Bjork who provided Arca with inspiration for moving beyond producing instrumental tracks and trying his hand at singing on his latest album.

The hymnal Piel finds Arca smothering the mix with deep and husky vocals that have the innocence of a soul-searching altar boy. What Bjork has taken from Arca in terms of deploying his unique production across her own tunes, she has repaid as Arca now moves beyond beats to deliver a dramatic album that tends to the operatic and wraps us up in heartfelt emotion that darkly explores the connectors between mind, body and soul.
