Adrienne Truscott's One Trick Pony!

Whether it be performing in circus burlesque duo The Wau Wau Sisters, or doing solo comedy shows about rape (and winning the Edinburgh Comedy Panel Prize for doing so), Truscott reeks of originality, social currency, risk-taking, and undeniable presence.

With this show, she manages to get the punters on side even when the gaffe is on them, as she shares with them her early career training in being "present, like a dog". What this means is that there is no shame in not doing anything for minutes on end. Indeed, Truscott refers to this as being ironic and then brings this into play with her question on whether a self-identified feminist performance artist ("We don't find anything funny") can get away with being both an ironic stripper and a comedian with no jokes. There are, however, some pretty funny comic swipes along the way, including her signature debunking of the female body part. Random wrestling is also involved.
