The Ziggy Stardust-era David Bowie album Waiting In The Sky (Before The Starman Came To Earth) is coming this Record Store Day, getting fans excited for the upcoming event on Saturday, 20 April.
The official announcement, with the album art, a teaser reel and tracklist, was shared on the official David Bowie Instagram account and website.
Waiting In The Sky contains recordings from Trident Studios in 1971, with four previously unheard tracks, including a cover of Chuck Berry's Round And Round. With the tracks stemming from the Trident Studios 1/4” stereo tapes from December 1971, much of what’s coming on Record Store Day was featured on Bowie’s 1972 album, The Rise And Fall Of Ziggy Stardust And The Spiders From Mars.
The upcoming release runs in a different order from Ziggy Stardust and features four additional songs. You can check out the complete tracklist below.
Last month, R&B icons TLC revealed that they almost worked with David Bowie, telling The Music in a cover story how they nearly had the opportunity to sing on Bowie’s 1999 track Thursday's Child — only for the star’s guitarist to convince him otherwise.
"You know what?" T-Boz reflected. "[Chilli] just said she didn't know. But I remember David wanted to do a song with us – I didn't know what the song was, and I didn't know what you just said. But I remember getting a call from the record company – 'cause I'm a big David Bowie fan!"

"I am, too!" Chilli added.
"I love him, okay?" T-Boz continued. "So knowing that he even wanted to do a song, even though it didn't work out – that was just an honour within itself."
Chilli joked, "I want to know the name and number of that person who convinced him to do it by himself!"
"Yeah!" T-Boz laughed. "How could you ruin our chance like that?"
