Is this the grossest charity support of all time?
In perhaps the yuckiest tactic to support charity, Yungblud has teamed up with 5 Gum and luxury designer Greg Yuna to release a line of necklaces featuring chewing gum from the South Yorkshire singer's mouth. All proceeds will go to National Independent Venue Foundation (NIVF).
It's gross, but for a good cause. As reported by Consequence Of Sound, 5 Gum sponsored Yungblud's latest US tour, and he chewed strips of their product every night before going on stage. Yuna then encased the gum in Lucite and made 15 necklaces of "white diamonds and a charm engraved with the 5 Gum logo and Yuna's signature stamp, all on a 14K white gold chain."
The jewellery has formulated the "Masterpieces collection" and comes with a certificate of authenticity and a pack of limited-edition Cobalt Peppermint 5 Gum with Yungblud's name and image. Fans can bid on the Masterpieces on eBay, starting at $5.
"I love these jewellery pieces that Greg Yuna created. His work is next level, and the fact that some of my fans will have the chance to own a little piece of history is amazing," Yungblud shared about the collaboration. "I loved this tour with 5 Gum, and I couldn't think of a better way to have celebrated the release of my album than by hitting as many cities in the US as I could and seeing as many of my fans as possible. Playing these new songs for the first time in these beautiful record stores was an experience I'll never forget."
The NIVF supports independent venues, promoters, festivals, and other cultural hubs that have especially struggled since the beginning of the COVID-19 pandemic.
The Music has closely followed the eBay bidding, which closes in approximately 11 hours. And, well, Yungblud fans are willing to pay a lot for charity. Fans are bidding upward of $1,000, but the lowest bid is at $738.39.

Yungblud recently spoke of the care he holds for his community, to the point where he wants to destroy the pedestal anyone tries to put him on. "I don't want to be on a pedestal; I'm not interested," he said. "I'm here to scare the shit out of fucking pop stars because I think it's all bollocks. It's all bollocks. I write music to belong somewhere. I write music to connect with people." When you look at his fans' dedication, in this instance, to charity, it's clear that Yungblud is very inspiring and connecting.
