UK artist Yungblud has paid tribute to Aussie trio The Chats with a mash-up of their breakout hit Smoko and his new single, Weird.

The Yorkshire-born songwriter connected with The Chats' Eamon Sandwith on Zoom to seek permission for the cover, with Sandwith saying, "Go for it mate, I'd love to hear it."

“The Chats are Aussie fookin royalty," Yungblud said.

"I love them, I love Australia and I can't wait to play it live!”
