“This is us playing our part.”
Throwing their support behind homegrown acts yet again, Young Henrys has announced a free monthly gig series in Victoria that will showcase “the best in local talent”.
The Best Served Loud series will see Young Henrys put on gigs at some of their favourite venues throughout the year, including The Standard Hotel, Nighthawks, Bendigo Hotel, Northcote Social Club and more, alongside “an extra special soiree” in May to coincide with Melbourne’s Good Beer Week.
“I guess the idea behind this collection of shows was to support the bands and venues we love directly and create some really awesome experiences to reward the people who already go out to support live music in independent venues,” Young Henrys Co-founder Oscar McMahon said.
“Bands should always get paid, music should always be accessible and venues need to be supported to remain open. This is us playing our part in that ecosystem.”
Fuzz rockers Jade Imagine will kick things off this Saturday, March 23, at Fitzroy’s Tramway Hotel, supported by indie singer-songwriter Gena Rose Bruce.
