This week’s The Music cover stars Vacations have unveiled a delightful music video for their groovy single Over You. The clip dropped yesterday when the Aussie stars released their new album, No Place Like Home.
Showcasing Camp Cope’s Georgia Maq ripping it up on guitar, in therapy, kissing a bathroom mirror and getting lost in a room of mirrors, she brings the charismatic, goofy energy the music video calls for.
In a statement, the band said about the background of the video, “I thought it would be really fun to lean into this idea of ‘Over You’ as an exploration of self-obsession. The high peaks and low valleys of ego just make for a funnier visual story, I think. We'd saved a silly, goofy video until last.
“I'd originally planned for Campbell [Burns, vocalist] to be in the role of protagonist and therapist, but circumstances meant none of us would be in the same city at the same time to work with the director, Jax Anderson, and their wonderful team. To our rescue came Australian darling Georgia Maq of Camp Cope fame. We were so lucky to have them involved, and their charisma really brought a sensuality and hilarity that was needed.”
Sharing a snippet of the video on her Instagram, Maq wrote in the caption, “OK well call me Nicolas Cage because I AM AN ACTOR! So grateful to the wonderful people in Vacations for asking me to be in this music video, and to Jax Anderson for being a freaking dream director and all round visionary.”

Over You, exploring self-obsession is just one of the moments throughout No Place Like Home exploring Burns’ diagnosis of Pure OCD: a subtype of obsessive-compulsive disorder, which is characterised by intrusive thoughts and compulsions that primarily play out in the mind.
“[The album] essentially outlines my journey with Pure OCD and navigating my mental health, and how I view myself; how I show myself compassion and love,” Burns explained in this week’s The Music cover story. “But then also: how can I give back to others? It poses a lot of questions and tries to answer them in a very nurturing and caring kind of way.
“It's like, well, I've gone through that and come out the other side stronger and more sure of myself as a person. If I can raise awareness and help spread that message, or just be open and emotional, that's all I wanna do at the end of the day. And then, if I can do that through music and other people can connect to it, that's great! It's a win-win; that's why I do what I do. So, I think there’s strength in being vulnerable.”
No Place Like Home is out now. You can listen to the album here before Vacations' upcoming Laneway Festival appearances.
