Tones And I Announces New Album ‘Beautifully Ordinary’

Australian icon Tones And I announced today (June 18) that she’ll be dropping a new album titled Beautifully Ordinary on August 2.

The Dance Monkey singer recently told Rolling Stone that her sophomore album – which is already available to pre-order – explores personal growth: “Each song is a different story, meant for its own moment. Some songs have been inspired by the same life experience, but through a different perspective. Mostly the album presents itself as whatever the listener takes from it,” she said.

Fans can expect an emotional ride on Beautifully Ordinary, which will include some of Tones And I’s earlier singles like Wonderful, I Get High and Dreaming.

“There’s an undertone of loneliness, heartbreak, desperation, fear, vulnerability, and triumph (but not too much),” she said of the new record. “The brightest songs have the saddest stories. Nostalgia seems to be a constant theme throughout the album, although it was never intentional,” she said.

Her new single Dance With Me was also released today. It’s an upbeat hit about trying to reconnect with someone you’ve lost emotionally.

The hitmaker recently announced her first local tour in three years, hitting the road in August to perform around Australia and New Zealand.

In a press release, Tones said of her return to stages on home soil: “The support and love around Australia and [New Zealand] has been so incredible! My live show is something I hold very close to my heart and is the best representation of who I am. I’m so grateful to be embraced by people around Australia and NZ! I hope people leave feeling part of something.”
