Thelma Plum is back and as powerful as ever. Her new single, We Don’t Talk About It, is a soulful pop track that finds Plum dealing with a form of emotional abuse called gaslighting.
“If it happened to me, it’ll happen to her / What the girls went through, they didn’t deserve it,” she sings in the commanding chorus that instantly stings and makes a mark. The music video was shot in East London and directed by Sarah Dattani Tucker.
We Don’t Talk About It is a raw, captivating song that signals the beginning of a new chapter for Plum. She added in a press release, “My new song, We Don’t Talk About It, is finally out! This song is deeply personal, and I’ve been itching/anxious to share it with you all - I’m so happy that release day is here at last.” Check out the music video below.
We Don’t Talk About It arrives ahead of Plum’s support slot for Coldplay at Optus Stadium in Perth this weekend.
In addition to those two massive shows, Plum has another round of performances scheduled, including a Great Southern Nights concert at the Joan Sutherland Theatre in Penrith (with special guest Ashli), a celebration of Aussie music at Forth Pub 151 Festival in Tasmania (from Thursday 7 until Sunday 10 December), and her first show of 2024 at the West League Tamworth Club with special guest Jem Cassar-Daley (Tuesday, 23 January).
Earlier this year, Thelma Plum won big at the Queensland Music Awards, taking home the title of Song of the Year and Pop Song of the Year for her acclaimed single Backseat Of My Mind.
