The lineup for Naarm/Melbourne’s Live At The Gardens concert series has just gotten bigger thanks to the addition of veteran outfit The Cruel Sea.

Taking place on Saturday, March 8th, the performance will see The Cruel Sea appearing at Melbourne’s Royal Botanic Gardens alongside a slew of special guests.

In addition to Mark Seymour & The Undertow, the lineup will also feature the great Vika & Linda and rising outfit Loose Content.

Originally formed in 1987, The Cruel Sea rose to fame in the late ‘80 and early ‘90s thanks to their bluesy rock sound, featuring vocals by the enigmatic Tex Perkins. Their greatest brush with success came about in 1993 alongside the release of The Honeymoon Is Over, which nabbed them five ARIA Awards, including Best Group and Album Of The Year.

Following albums such as the chart-topping Three Legged Dog, The Cruel Sea effectively split in the early ‘00s, but reunited occasionally for a run of shows. More recently, the group have been on the live circuit once again, including a support slot on Cold Chisel’s recent 50th anniversary tour.
