Teddy Swims didn’t pass up the opportunity to help a fan out when he noticed them singing his smash-hit ‘Lose Control’.

Brisbane (Meanjin) singer INOXIA had a dream come true this week, when Teddy Swims stumbled upon her busking set at just the right moment – when she was covering one of his own songs.
INOXIA was singing for passersby at Queen Street Mall in Brisbane yesterday (July 10), and at one point decided to try her hand at Swims’ recent smash-hit Lose Control (which, sidenote, recently made it to four-times Platinum in Australia). Swims himself was in Brisbane as part of his ongoing Australian tour, having played at the Riverstage on Tuesday night (July 9) – and just so happened to be at Queen Street Mall at the most serendipitous moment.
Once INOXIA recognised Swims – after a brief moment of pure disbelief – she called for him to join her with a second mic. Swims obliged, INOXIA caught the wholesome moment on video, and you can check it out below:

INOXIA went on to share a Polaroid photo she took with Swims after the special moment, writing in a caption that she’s “feeling so incredibly blessed right now” and thanking the American R&B star for “all of your magic”. She went on to post a second video of her and Swims singing together, this time covering Rihanna’s 2012 ballad Stay.
Meanwhile, Swims’ Australian tour will continue with back-to-back shows in Sydney (Eora) tonight (July 11) and tomorrow, before rounding the week out in in Melbourne (Naarm) this Saturday (July 13). Next week, too, he’ll take to stages in Adelaide (Kaurna) and Perth (Boorloo) – head here for more info.
