A new global festival The Nowhere Festival will debut on Sydney’s Cockatoo Island on the 8th and 9th of February, 2025. Promising to “challenge perceptions and awaken the senses”, The Nowhere Festival will be a 6000-capacity festival that aims to provide an unforgettable experience with invigorating dance music brought to you by a lineup of local and international artists and mesmerising art installations.

The festival’s curation is helmed by Jody Coker of Essential Events Management – the Australian promoter for the annual Gorgeous Presents NYE Party at the Museum of Contemporary Art (MCA) Australia. The future of the festival will see plans for expansion in several locations around the world including the UK, Dubai and Barcelona.

In a press release, he said: “A collective of the world’s best promoters and producers are curating The Nowhere Festival experience - bringing an unparalleled depth of creativity and music to explore and discover.“

The Nowhere Festival will be spread across four different stages, with Cockatoo Island’s iconic waterfront setting on full display. A lineup of 50 international and homegrown live acts will maintain the sound over the two days, with organisers pulling together some of the best names in house, techno and electronic music.

Globally renowned dance music trailblazers Carl Craig and Moodymann will take the festival by storm with a back-to-back DJ set. Rome’s resident party DJ Adiel is also set to play at the festival, as well as Berlin dance DJ and producer Marcel Dettman who has famously shaken up the infamous Berghain nightclub on many occasions. On the local fronts, Sydney DJs and party connoisseurs Barney Kato, Adi Toohey, Magda Bytnerowicz and Reenie will be soundtracking the festival as well as Naarm-based Japanese DJ and producer Kazuma Onishi. UK-born, Sydney-based airbrush artist Danny Willians is slated to bring his intricate, airbrush art to life throughout the festival.
