Dragon Aren’t Happy About ScoMo Butchering Their Song On TV

Scott Morrison has been absolutely roasted for his 60 Minutes interview with Karl Stefanovic, in no small part to an absolutely cringe-worthy performance of a classic track.

During the interview, in which Stefanovic spent time with the Morrisons in their home, the PM thought it would be a great idea to bust out a ukulele and perform Dragon’s April Sun In Cuba (during which he forgot some of the words).

A clip of the horrifying act went viral on socials across the weekend after it was used to promote Sunday night’s airing.

Well, Dragon have responded with their thoughts on the performance, sharing a video of Morrison playing the song superimposed over vision of bushfires (a clip created by It's Not A Race in response to him discussing the Hawaii incident during the interview).

“Once again, Dragon are famous for all the wrong reasons,” the band said on socials.

In a follow-up statement, they added: “It is a cynical move for a politician to co-opt music in an attempt to humanise themselves come election time. Maybe if his trip had not been cut short, he could have learnt the lyrics to the rest of the chorus.”
