Sabrina Carpenter Confirms Australian Tour Plans After Supporting Taylor Swift

Ahead of her final show supporting Taylor Swift on the Australian leg of the Eras tour, Sabrina Carpenter has confirmed she’ll be heading back for a headline tour.

The very last gig on Swift’s run Down Under will be held tonight (February 26) at Accor Stadium in Sydney (Eora), with Carpenter taking the stage shortly after 6:20pm. She’s been playing weighty sets ahead of Swift, performing a solid ten songs at last night’s show.

As expected, the shows have also earned Carpenter a legion of new fans, many of whom are keen to see her again at a show of her own. In a Q&A held for Channel Nine’s Today show this morning, one fan asked her if she’d been planning a headline tour of Australia, to which she replied (as transcribed by news.com.au), “My managers are looking at me with a smile – so yes.”

Carpenter went on to hype the crowd by confirming that her own Australian tour is “very much happening”, noting that “just being able to be here, like performing for technically the first time this weekend, has just made me want to come back ASAP”.

She mentioned that she’s had a blast performing for a “loving, happy, excited community” at the Eras shows in Sydney and Melbourne (Naarm), and gushed, “I genuinely just feel like I’m so lucky to be doing what I love.”

Reviewing the first date of the Eras tour in Naarm, Christopher Lewis wrote for TheMusic.com.au: “From Bon Iver’s woodland shack in folklore to the revenge dress era of 1989, [Taylor] Swift excels at playing into the narrative of each of her lifetimes through choreography, detailed stage sets, and her myriad of glittery, sequinned costumes.

At that show, Carpenter paid tribute to the late Olivia Newton-John, performing a cover of the Grease classic Hopelessly Devoted To You.
