Rhiannon Giddens Confirms Intimate Hobart Date

Acclaimed US artist Rhiannon Giddens has announced a special show at Mona for next March.

The singer-songwriter will perform alongside Italian musician Francesco Turrisi at the museum's intimate Nolan Gallery on March 11, offering up songs from their recent album There Is No Other.

“Rhiannon Giddens is deeply rooted in tradition whilst simultaneously ultra-contemporary as she reclaims American folk music history,” Mona music curator Brian Ritchie said.

“Rhiannon and her dazzling Italian musical partner Francesco are an unusual collaboration, yet utterly compelling in their musical journey across Africa, the Middle East, Southern Europe and the Americas.”
