Line-up also includes Fuck Buttons, Gurrumul and a whole lot more
The annual Melbourne Festival has announced its 2013 line-up which includes a strong music contingent - it takes place October 11 - 27.
Texan choral rockers The Polyphonic Spree lead the line-up having just slayed audiences with their Rocky Horror tribute at Splendour, they will return to our shores to perform material from their new album Yes It's True.
Fellow Americans Yo La Tengo are also on the bill, set to perform "a suite of tracks from their critically acclaimed 13th album Fade". While US electronic pop artiste Active Child will share a bill with local synth lover Oliver Tank. Plus, British noiseniks Fuck Buttons will be here unleash their new album upon festival audiences.
Other international acts on the bill include: Caitlin Rose (performing with our own Henry Wagons), Clannad, Cody ChesnuTT, Steve Mason (ex Beta Band), The Cinematic Orchestra, The Handsome Family and Foy Vance.

The local line-up is led by Gurrumul as well as Songs Of Wreck & Ruin featuring Tim Rogers, Paul Capsis and Megan Washington (Rogers performed The Reels' Quasimodo's Dream at the festival launch tonight to give festivalgoers a taste of what this combination will be getting up to).
Other local acts announced include: Archie Roach, British India, Dexter, Flight Facilities, Hiatus Kaiyote, Husky and Strange Tenants.
