It’s official: Night At The Barracks is returning to the idyllic North Head Sanctuary in Manly this September, and today (May 23) the team behind it have shared the full details of its 12-show itinerary.

The itinerary will launch with an extra-special gig from Icehouse on Friday September 13, followed by shows from Pete Murray and the Gospo Collective choir – the latter’s set built around the soulful repertoires of Whitney Houston and the Jackson siblings – over the following two nights (Saturday September 14 and Sunday 15, respectively).

The next weekend, we’ll be swept away by performances from Birds Of Tokyo (who are locked in to perform on Friday September 20), Jon Stevens (playing the hits of Noiseworks and INXS on Saturday September 21) and the Australian Rock Collective (with a best-of set confirmed for Sunday September 22). The lattermost show will feature appearances from some of the country’s most iconic rockstars: Kram (of Spiderbait fame), Darren Middleton (Powderfinger), Davey Lane (You Am I) and Talei Wolfgram.

Weekend three will be an epic celebration of the dancefloor, kicking off with a show co-headlined by The Presets and Bag Raiders – both performing live – on Friday September 28. Kiwi pop-rock legends Six60 will take to the stage on the following night (September 28), and then the week will be rounded out with a Taylor Swift tribute show featuring Claire Bowditch, Alex The Astronaut, Clementine Ford, Charley, Emily Wurramara and Lucy Durack.

For the fourth and final weekend, it’s all about those beautiful, soul-stirring indie vibes: Matt Corby will play an intimate gig on Friday October 4, followed by Jessica Mauboy on the Saturday (October 5) and Xavier Rudd on the Sunday (October 6).

Tickets for all 12 shows go onsale next Wednesday (May 29) – head here for more info on how you can grab yours.

In a press release, Northern Beaches mayor Sue Heins said of this year’s edition of the famed Sydney festival: “We are delighted to see Night at the Barracks return for another year. This wonderful event deserves its success, supporting local businesses and providing entertainment in an iconic location on the Beaches. I look forward to seeing our community share in the many wonderful performances by world-class musicians, with family, friends, neighbours and visitors this September and October – a great night for all.”

The sentiment was shared by Janet Carding, executive director of The Harbour Trust, who said in a statement of her own: We are pleased North Head Sanctuary’s historic architecture plays an integral part in bringing Night at The Barracks to life under the stars. North Head’s natural beauty also enhances the overall experience for attendees and contributes to the event’s distinctive atmosphere.
