More Polaris More Polaris

Two years after their last tour of regional Australia, Polaris are hitting the road again in just a few months, today (April 30) announcing a massive new trek around the country.

They’ll cover 22 of the spots less travelled on touring itineraries, starting with four back-to-back shows in Queensland at the end of June: The Jack in Cairns on Thursday June 27, the Uni Bar in Townsville on Thursday June 27, Magnums in Airlie Beach on Saturday June 29, and Harvey Road in Gladstone on Sunday June 30.

They’ll keep rolling through the Sunshine State over the first week of July, playing Venue 114 on the Sunshine Coast the following Thursday (July 4), then Powerhouse in Toowoomba and SPOP on the Gold Coast over the next two days (July 5 and 6, respectively), and C.EX in Coffs Harbour on Sunday July 7.

Week three will see Polaris take on five back-to-back shows across New South Wales, starting with a gig at Blazes Showroom in Tamworth on Wednesday July 10, then Panthers in Penrith, Waves in Wollongong, Drifters Wharf on the Central Coast and Beer Deluxe in Albury.

The week after that, the metalcore kings will dart all around the country; they’ll do three back-to-back shows in Western Australia towards the end of the week – one at the Prince Of Wales in Bunbury on the Wednesday (July 17), then Shelters Brewing in Busselton and Loop in Joondalup – before heading to Adelaide to play the Bridgeway Hotel on Saturday July 20, then Ballarat for a show at Civic Hall on Sunday July 21.

Next up will be two shows in Tasmania – a Hobart gig at the Odeon Theatre on Thursday July 25, and a Forth gig at the titular Forth Pub on Friday July 26 – before Polaris wrap it all up with two more Victorian dates: Saturday July 27 at the Wool Exchange in Geelong, and Sunday July 28 at The Pier in Frankston.

Joining them for all 22 dates will be the genre-bending giants in Ocean Grove, who are still riding hot on the heels of their 2022 album Up In The Air Forever. Sydney-based melodic hardcore band Bloom will tag along for the first 13 dates, too – playing everywhere from Cairns to Albury with cuts from their ripping debut album Maybe In Another Life – while fellow Sydneysiders Inertia are on deck to open up for the last nine shows.

In a press release, Polaris frontman Jamie Hails said he and his crew are keen as mustard to head back out on tour: “We’re super excited to be heading back out to regional parts of Australia this June [and] July. It’s been quite a few years since we’ve been to some of these places and we’re visiting some new towns also which is going to be really nice.

“I feel very lucky to be able to visit so many different areas of our beautiful country and I love being able to play our music to people that don't often get tours coming through their towns.”

Tickets for every show on the run will go on sale at 10am local time this Friday (May 3) – head here for all the info.

It comes as Polaris’ second tour in support of their career-defining third album Fatalism, which arrived last August via Resist Records. It proved to be another smash-hit success for the band, topping the ARIA Charts and drawing in widespread critical acclaim; in a 4.5-star review for TheMusic.com.au, Mary Varvaris said the opus “certainly elevates Polaris to new levels”.
