P!nk Pauses First Show On Australian Tour As Fan Goes Into Labour

P!nk paused the first show of her Summer Carnival Australian tour last night (9 February) as a fan in the mosh pit went into labour.

In what would result in a pretty eventful night, the Get The Party Started singer halted the concert during a performance of Our Song as said fan needed to be moved from the crowd to give birth to her baby.

At first, P!nk joked with the audience that she didn’t understand her crew’s hand signals to pause the show due to a fan going into labour. In video footage shared by radio host Smallzy, P!nk referenced her own name and said, “Is it Alicia or Alex being born? I feel like we shouldn’t be looking. Everyone give her her privacy!”

She then congratulated the mother before quipping: “Wow, Our Song, that was the one that did it. Wouldn’t have called that one! I thought it would’ve been Get The Party Started or Never Gonna Not Dance Again. That’s insane.”

She continued, “I don’t even know what to say. Good luck! It’s going to be great.”

That wasn’t even the strangest incident at P!nk shows in recent times. In September, she kicked out a punter from her show in San Antonio, Texas, after he was allegedly shouting about circumcision at her concert.

In June, a fan threw a bag of their mother’s ashes to P!nk while she was performing her headlining set at Hyde Park’s British Summer Time festival. The fan threw a little bag onto the stage while P!nk was playing Just Like A Pill. She picked it up, looked at the bag closely and asked, “Is this your mum?”

Upon receiving confirmation from the fan in the audience, she responded, “I don’t know how I feel about this.” Also in June, a fan handed P!nk a wheel of brie cheese in London.

P!nk is currently in Australia for her enormous 17-date Summer Carnival tour with special guest Tones And I.

“Her show has all the explosions, death-defying stunts, and spectacles any stadium casual could want - and she pulls it off while still playing new music,” Alasdair Belling declared in The Music’s review of P!nk’s first show of the tour.

Belling continued, “Multiple times, the singer ascended and somersaulted through the air, all while belting out her anthems. However, no matter how many times she does it, the fly-around of the stadium for the finale - a stomping rendition of So What - will never lose its thrill.”
