While 'Bricks' is the duet "no one asked for," it's most certainly the one we needed.

Two wonderful Australian singers with tons of soul in their voices and whose fanbases likely intersect more often than they think. So, their respective fanbases freaked out when the pair announced that they’d joined forces for their first-ever duet, which they described as “effortless” in a recent chat with The Music’s Tione Zylstra.
The song was born a month ago when Mac started writing a song called Bricks, thinking it would be a good duet but was unsure about what she’d do with it.
“I sent a voice memo to Matt, one of my favourite singers, not really expecting him to say yes,” Mac explained in a press release. “But a couple of weeks later, I was on my way to Rainbow Valley, where we finished writing the song and recorded it straight away with Chris Collins. I can't believe it's coming out this quickly, and now I have my first duet and so happy that it is with Matt Corby!”
Corby said of the duet with Mac, “Meg is a great singer and writer. We were collaborating already on some writing, and she sent me an idea to see if I would be keen to write and duet with her. We jumped into the studio pretty much straight away, and I’m loving what we came out with.”

Chatting with The Music about the track, Corby joked that he “hated” and could “fix” the track upon receiving the voice memo from Mac. She laughed, and Corby continued, “As soon as I heard it, I was like, ‘This sounds great, but when can we have a crack at it?’”
From there, Corby said the creation of the song was “quite effortless”. He added that, for both of them as singers, “It's always nice to combine voices with someone else that you feel like you can kind of go toe to toe with, so to speak.”
Sharing that the song was done “pretty much in a day”, the pair then discussed how they felt before performing it live for the first time last night (11 July). Mac expressed nerves about jumping into the harmony, while Corby quipped about the “total stitch up” of coming out to perform one song.
Stay tuned for the interview coming soon on The Music.
