There is no unseating the British troubadour from his throne atop both Albums and Singles charts
The grim midweek outlook for this week's ARIA charts has come to pass, with both heavyweight heroes Mastodon and jazz-funk lords Jamiroquai making top-10 debuts — at #3 (Emperor Of Sand) and #7 (Automaton) respectively — but neither have been able to shift Ed Sheeran from his spot atop the pile.
The British troubadour doesn't just occupy the #1 ranking with latest album ÷ (Divide), however; he's a persistent force throughout the top 20, with previous efforts X (#9) and + (#13) both making the cut.
Mastodon and Jamiroquai are joined in the debut ranks by Ice-T's metal outfit Body Count, whose Bloodlust lands just outside the top 10, at #12, as well as Jon Stevens (Starlight, #16), local lads Polish Club (Alright Already, #19) and Goldfrapp (Silver Eye, #20).
A little further down the list, Och Aye The G'nu — the unexpected collab between Jimmy Barnes and The Wiggles — makes its entry at #34, while Nobel Prize winner Bob Dylan is a couple of rungs behind with Triplicate (#36). And, speaking of legendary acts, veteran troubadour Neil Young just makes the cut into the top 100 this week, with Harvest nabbing the #99 spot.

Away from the new faces, there are plenty of incumbents making serious movements on the ladder this week, including Fleetwood Mac (The Very Best Of Fleetwood Mac, up 47 places to #27), Roy Orbison (The Ultimate Collection, up 24 places to #28), INXS (The Very Best INXS, up 14 places to #29), Taylor Swift (1989, up 30 places to #40), the Guardians Of The Galaxy soundtrack (up 44 places to #42), Kaleo (A/B, up 32 places to #43) and Flume (Skin, up 27 places to #50), among other upwardly mobile artists.
As far as the Singles rankings go this week, Kendrick Lamar nabs the highest debut with new track Humble, making his entry just outside the top five at #6, leaving his nearest fellow new face — Heatstroke, by Calvin Harris ft. Young Thug, Pharrell Williams and Ariana Grande — in the dust at #24.
The list also welcome new tracks from The Chainsmokers (The One, #36), Bliss N Eso (Moments ft. Gavin James, #41), Cheat Codes (No Promises ft. Demi Lovato, #49) and Kaleo (Way Down We Go, #70). And, of course, Sheeran stays at #1 with Shape Of You and reclaims the #2 spot with Galway Girl, up from #9 last week.
