It doesn't look likely that the trip-hop maestros will visit us
In the wake of the official cancellation of Harvest Festival, it appears one act from line-up won't be touring Aus for any of the headlining shows in place of the event.
According to promoter AJ Maddah in an interview with Fairfax, headliners Massive Attack will not tour our shores later this year. While no official announcements have been confirmed on these special tours, Maddah said that Eels, Neutral Milk Hotel, Franz Ferdinand and Black Rebel Motorcycle Club, as reported yesterday, would. The promoter said he was still in negotiations with Goldfrapp.
The cancellation of the festival was announced late last night by Maddah on his Twitter feed, only hours after it was announced that he had bought into the Big Day Out, acquiring the stake of original promoter Ken West. Ironically, when news first broke that Harvest's sales were lagging last week, Maddah claimed BDO's line-up was eating into his festival's tickets.
