Queensland’s loveable electronic project, Mashd N Kutcher, are coming back on stage - this time for a one-off live show to celebrate the release of their debut album, LEGACY

Playing the biggest live show of their careers, the dance icons are set to grace The MET’s 360 degree stage this Saturday, December 14. They’ll be joined by a full live band, as well as some special guests.

According to Mashd N Kutcher’s founding member Matt James, this show is not to be missed: “If you’re from Brisbane, or even from interstate and you’ve been part of this journey either as a friend, a fan or both, come and celebrate it with us… It’s going to be amazing. I’m reserving my energy so that I can be there from doors open until the end of the night. I really look forward to seeing you there, everyone’s invited, even the crew from our collab videos,” he wrote in a press release.

“I’m inviting the pizza guy, the running guy, to trolling the crowd, to those who loved My Sunshine, Get on the Beers, On My Mind, We are MNK, or whenever you jumped on board with the project. Or maybe like me you just want to hear some good tunes, dance the night away and say ‘F*ck Cancer,’ let’s have one epic night to remember. December 14. This is a celebration of all we’ve achieved so far, new music, new beginnings and the start of something special. I look forward to seeing you there,” James continued.

Mashd N Kutcher will be supported by a huge range of performers on the night, including Jakey J, Just Kait, CAL, Java, Roberto, Will Mind, Patrick², Jaycee, CAL.I.AM, Franko, and Yarpo.

Punters are encouraged to sign up to The MET’s guest list for discounted tickets at the door. The event kicks off at 9pm this Saturday, December 14.

In a chat with The Music in November, James spoke on LEGACY’s lead single, Don’t Hold Back, revealing how his habit for crate digging inspires a lot of his tracks - including this one.

“I like to go back through, you know, funk and soul and Motown and classic rock. I just listen to those records because I enjoy them, really. But then when I'm listening to them, every now and then, a little ear worm will present itself. And in this case, it was a little seven second snippet in a record I was jamming out to from the 70s, and I really liked it. And I think it's cool when you hear such a tiny moment in a bigger song, but you can see it has the potential to, maybe, be its own song. So that's super cool.

“And, you know, some of the artists that I really look up to, like Daft Punk or Justice, or even in the hip hop space, producers like Timbaland and Scott Storch, these guys are absolute legends of the game, who are the best at doing that - finding a small moment in a song and giving that its own moment as its own song. And that's what we did here.”

Mashd N Kutcher play The MET this Saturday. Tickets are available at the door. Their debut album, ‘LEGACY’, is out on all streaming platforms now.
