Kylie Minogue Reveals The Indie Rock Band She Dreams Of Collaborating With

Kylie Minogue has revealed the next artist she wants to collaborate with.

Outside of the pop, hip-hop and EDM sphere, where most pop acts often find collaborators, Minogue is looking closer to the indie rock genre, even if the band she’s chosen are far from a struggling independent band at this stage in their career.

Kylie Minogue wants to work with The Killers. Not all that surprising when she featured on Nick Cave’s Murder Ballads album on the duet, Where The Wild Roses Grow, and previously worked with the Manic Street Preachers and put out a song as unique as Confide In Me.

Speaking with E! Online about her new Las Vegas residency, amongst other topics, the Aussie singer said, “I’ve always loved more kind of indie bands, like The Killers.

“Most collaborations I’ve done have come to me, so I haven’t had to make that decision. But whoever I work with, I think there’s always something to learn from people I work with.” She’s also eager to join forces with Beyoncé and Rihanna.

The Killers returned to Australia in November 2022. The highly anticipated tour, initially announced for the tail end of 2020, was extended to include Barossa Valley, Geelong, and Hunter Valley for a special run of A Day On The Green shows.

In Brisbane, The Music’s reviewer Roshan Clerke compared the grandiosity and yearning of the band’s live show to a famous figure from New Jersey, Bruce Springsteen, who The Killers have always looked up to. He also praised the band’s “celestial rock and roll,” which is how vocalist Brandon Flowers liked to describe the band’s newest tunes. You can read The Music’s live review here.

Last week, Kylie Minogue announced her Las Vegas residency, promising that it’s “more than” your typical months-long pop extravaganza in the US desert.

The On A Night Like This singer is the first-ever headliner at the new Vegas venue, Voltaire, inspired by Studio 54.

Minogue’s residency announcement follows a career resurgence for the Australian hitmaker, prompted by the uber-successful single, Padam Padam. It also begins shortly after she drops her new album, Tension, on Friday, 22 September, via BMG.
