‘80s pop icon Kim Wilde has announced a 2024 Greatest Hits tour – just days after tour promoters Metropolis Touring teased her return to Australia.
Kim Wilde is back in Australia this October, beginning the run on Thursday, 17 October, at Brisbane’s The Tivoli, before heading to Tweed Heads’ Twin Towns on Friday, 18 October, Sydney’s Enmore Theatre on Saturday, 19 October, Wollongong’s Anita’s Theatre on Sunday, 20 October, followed by Perth’s Astor Theatre on Tuesday, 22 October, Adelaide’s The Gov on Thursday, 24 October, and ends at Melbourne’s Palais Theatre on Saturday, 26 October.
It's a huge run fans won’t want to miss, so get onto pre-sale tickets tomorrow at 11 am AEDT (10 am local Brisbane time, 9 am local Perth time) before the general sale begins on Thursday, 14 March (same sale times). Tickets will be available via Metropolis Touring and David Roy Williams websites.
Wilde’s Greatest Hits tour will include the songs you know and love, including Kids Of America, Cambodia, You Keep Me Hangin’ On (originally by The Supremes), You Came, Chequered Love, If I Can’t Have You (the Bee Gees), and many more.
Kim Wilde last visited Australia in November 2016 on a co-headline tour with fellow ‘80s icon Howard Jones. In a review of Wilde’s concert at Perth’s Astor Theatre in November 2016, The Music reviewer Mac McNaughton declared that Wilde is a “survivor” of the ‘80s pop era.
McNaughton wrote, “Rocking out four of her earliest singles off the bat reminded us how boisterously her career started. Her cover of Bee Gees' If I Can't Have You and tracks Keep Me Hangin' On and the gracious You Came enveloped The Astor in pure joy.”
