As the cast of the new Australian edition of Jesus Christ Superstar was announced, so was a co-headline tour—Superstars Live—starring Jon Stevens and Kate Ceberano.
32 years after their 1992 production of Jesus Christ Superstar, which saw Stevens and Ceberano as original cast members alongside John Farnham, they’re bringing a unique show back to the people. With the tour poster promising the duo’s greatest hits from Jesus Christ Superstar and more, plus a tribute to John Farnham, it’s a show you won’t want to miss.
Stevens and Ceberano will take the upcoming tour to six cities (and one territory) across Australia in October and November.
The tour begins at the Canberra Theatre Centre on Wednesday, 16 October, followed by Adelaide’s Festival Theatre, the Sydney Coliseum, Brisbane’s Fortitude Music Hall, Perth Concert Hall, Geelong Performing Arts, Melbourne’s Palais Theatre, Hobart’s Federation Concert Hall, and wraps up at Launceston’s Princess Theatre. You can find all the tour dates below and purchase tickets here.
In a statement, Stevens said of the tour’s inspiration, “Kate and I can feel the energy from the crowd when we perform the JCS hits together. Delta [Goodrem] bought us together last December for her Christmas special and requested that we perform Everything’s Alright – and the response blew us away.

“It was magical, and afterwards, we had so many people – Delta included – tell us we should do more with it. This encouragement, and the fact that it’s the 50th anniversary of Jesus Christ Superstar, created the seeds from which the Superstars Live show has grown. We can’t wait to take it on the road.”
Ceberano added, “Jon and I have been great mates for a really long time now and have shared the stage together. But we’ve never done a full show like this one. We’ve always had an awesome reaction to performing the JCS songs together, and with Delta’s encouragement, the time was right for us to take it to the next level and put together a full show.
“We both have so much love for John Farnham and the incredible experience we all shared and all these years later, that remains a cherished memory. We’re excited we can bring that back for those who saw us in the original production and for a whole new generation.”
