The legendary singer and activist is finally returning.
The legendary Joan Baez has innumerable credits to her name from an incredible career that has lasted well over 50 years and continues strongly to this day. She's a genuine icon of the folk world, a renowned activist, a brilliant singer and outstanding interpreter of song.
Her impact on the career of Bob Dylan was immense, her active support of the civil rights movement was inspiring and the music she has given us through her lifetime remains among the most recognisable of the entire 1960s folk movement.
Her most recent LP, 2008's Day After Tomorrow saw her back in the charts for the first time in quite a while and was nominated for a Grammy Award; the Steve Earle produced LP featuring songs from Earle himself, Tom Waits, Elvis Costello, Patty Griffin and more.
It has been a very, very long time since Baez was last in Australia, so fans of 1960s folk music will be beside themselves to hear that the singer will finally be back out here this August. Dates are as follows and tickets are available now.
