Recorded at an iconic Aussie pub.
Aussie partystarters Jazz Party have signed with Remote Control Records and released a live EP recorded at a landmark pub to celebrate.
The Melbourne outfit tracked It's Monday Night Somewhere at live music venue The Evelyn Hotel during their infamous Monday night residencies over the past five years, and it’s a release “which reminds us live music in Australia is truly unique, necessary and irreplaceable”.
“We decided to release these even though they are imperfect, maybe even a little cringe worthy for us at times,” Jazz Party’s Loretta Miller said.
“This release is about the energy that’s created on these nights, that have allowed us to grow our music naturally in front of an audience.
“There are times the band will have never heard a tune before and Darcy (Band Leader, Saxophone) will write out a last minute chart and direct and we’ll all just see what happens. It’s risky but it’s the most free and excited I ever feel on stage.”
The new EP features Jazz Party with special guests such as The Cat Empire’s Harry James Angus, Las Mar’s Nick Martyn and more.
