EDM icon Fred again.. has teamed up with rappers Anderson .Paak and CHIKA, dropping new single places to be last Friday (May 31).
The song samples the reading of a poem titled Intimacy – written and released on SoundCloud by CHIKA in 2017 – and combines it with an upbeat backing and Anderson .Paak’s smooth rapping.
In a post shared on Instagram, Fred again.. raved about working with .Paak, saying, “its a real priviledge [sic] to be able to jam wit him and make music and hangs and stuff ykno”.
US DJ Skrillex had a hand in producing the song, as well as fellow American Boo, in conjunction with Fred again.. himself.
places to be was originally put together by the UK DJ and his brother in 2018, and was played at a Boiler Room event in 2019.
