Breaking records for Australia’s biggest ever beach party, FISHER played to a crowd of 30,000 punters at Coolangatta Beach over the weekend (May 4).
The Aussie DJ returned to his old stomping ground for the launch of his new festival, Out 2 Lunch, on Saturday. The lineup, headlined by FISHER, was stacked with fellow electronic stars Vintage Culture – marking the Brazil-based DJ’s first-ever Australian show – Flight Facilities, Little Fritter and Shimmy.
In an interview with 7 News on Friday, Fisher gushed, “I can’t wipe the smile off my face. I’m really pumped and I can’t wait for everyone to have fun on the beach. I’ve been waiting for this day all my life. Doesn’t get much better.”
Punters flooded the sold out festival on Saturday, as FISHER played his biggest hits, including his brand-new collaboration with J-Lo Waiting For Tonight, and his record-breaking song Losing It.

Even including fans in the set, punters were asked to film themselves singing and jumping to send in to the official festival account for a chance to be seen on the big screen.
Posting a video of the night to social media the next day, FISHER said, “THAT WAS SO SPECIAL… HONESTLY ONE OF THE BEST DAYS OF MY LIFE… 30,000 OF US GOING MAD ON THE BEACH IN MY HOME TOWN !!!! THIS IS WHAT DREAMS ARE MADE OF THANK YOU SO MUCH FOR BEING A PART OF IT.”
The success of his festival is the latest in FISHER’s list of exciting life updates lately. In January, he announced that he’ll be co-headlining Tennessee’s Bonnaroo Festival this June with American producer Pretty Lights.
And, in December last year, FISHER announced his wife’s pregnancy, adding a “permanent plus one” to his tour - and family.
