Set to kick off Brisbane’s (Meanjin) Open Season 2024, this year’s Blak Day Out will take over the King Street Precinct with a free, all-ages party.
The Blak Social-sponsored event, which aims to celebrate First Nations excellence, has a stacked lineup. Emma Donovan is headlining the night, alongside performances from 3% (the hip-hop collective made up of Angus Field, Dallas Wood, and Nooky), Velvet Trip, BADASSMUTHA, The Ancient Bloods and Kritty.
In a press statement, Blak Social's Creative Director Alethea Beetson said: “Blak Day Out is a space for community to come together and celebrate the music being made by this continent’s very First musicians. The line-up gives audiences a taste of the vast world of Indigenous music which should be celebrated all year round.”
