With only seven weeks to go!
Fat Freddy’s Drop will return to beloved SA event WOMADelaide in March, marking their first appearance at the festival since 2014.
The New Zealand outfit will headline the event’s Saturday festivities with a potent mix of dub, funk, soul, jazz and electronica, joining previously-announced artists Angelique Kidjo, The Original Gypsies, John Butler Trio, Fatoumata Diawara, Julia Jacklin and Tkay Maidza, just to name a few, at Adelaide's Botanic Park from March 8 – 11.
The festival will also team up with UniSA’s MOD in 2019 to bring a taste of its futuristic museum of discovery to Frome Park via immersive multi-sensory exhibit Feeling Human, while unveiling a series of free workshops and the return of the KidZone, which will feature readings from Peter Helliar, a Kiddo Silent Disco and more.
Meanwhile, the Planet Talks program welcomes Senator Penny Wong and Minister Simon Birmingham.
“With the festival only seven weeks away, we are thrilled to add some exciting final touches to the WOMADelaide program beginning with a Saturday night headline performance from Fat Freddy’s Drop,” WOMADelaide Director Ian Scobie said.
