The Sydney cinematic instrumental rockers are kicking it into high gear in the lead-up to their run with the Japanese legends.
Sydney cinematic instrumental-rock four-piece Dumbsaint set off for their eagerly awaited tour supporting Japanese post-rock legends MONO next week, and they're getting nice and ready for the run with the unveiling of a new two-track release, captured spontaneously in the wake of the band's recent European tour.
The release, Another Scene, follows on from the group's acclaimed sophomore full-length, Panorama, In Ten Pieces (2016), and was written on the road between venues, in backstage areas and practice as the band attempted to chronicle the creative impulses that came to them while away from home.
"Our European tour was such an inspiring time for us, and we wanted to follow up the experience with something new that kept that productive energy going," the band said in a statement. "We feel this impromptu release captures musically where we've been over the last two years, as well as where we're potentially headed next.
"Rather than sit on the new material until the next album, we set out to self-record and handle the whole process ourselves — to get it out to people more directly, and make sure this release genuinely represents where we're at right now."
