Delta Goodrem is back with her first new music since her #1 ARIA charting album, Bridge Over Troubled Dreams, was released in 2021.
Back To Your Heart is unlike anything we’ve heard from Delta before – just because she’s touring the 20th anniversary of Innocent Eyes next month, doesn’t mean that’s where her heart lies, musically. Her new single is, put simply, a glam pop/rock-inspired song.
Written by Goodrem, Matthew Copley and John Shanks and the first release on her new independent label, ATLED Records, Back To Your Heart is backed by powerful synths and a full band – with a guitar solo towards the end. Goodrem stretches to a new pop sound and owns it.
Goodrem said about her new single, “I was inspired to write this new music from my experience of touring around the world last year.” Teasing that a new album is on its way, she added, “I knew I wanted the new record to be filled with songs that the crowd can sing back to me, and dance away the night to.
“Back To Your Heart is the first song that I wanted to share off this exciting new era of music together. The song is about letting go of your worries and fears that are in your head, and remembering to get back to what you love and lead with your heart. It's anthemic, epic, pop. It's all about living in the here and now, and that feels liberating.”

Two weeks ago, Goodrem teased Back To Your Heart on social media and signalled her “new era” of music. “We currently have more projects in the works than ever before, surpassing our wildest dreams, which has challenged me to think outside the box and evaluate how I want to continue to share music with you all,” she wrote on Facebook.
“I would consider myself to be someone who has always run their own race and in these moments it is extremely exciting to be able to set up your own music world! Having ownership of my music in an industry that is constantly evolving is an incredible feeling and fuels my artistry and business ventures.”
