Who knew the 'X-Files' and 'Californication' star had it in him?
Look, we know how this sounds, especially today of all days, but this is important: The X-Files' David Duchovny has announced the release date for his debut… alt-rock?… album, Hell Or Highwater.
As Consequence Of Sound (and Rolling Stone) report, the album will be out internationally on 12 May through fledgling label ThinkSay Records (their roster is only three acts deep) and contains 12 whole tracks of Duchovny's dulcet crooning for your listening pleasure. It's just gone up for pre-order on iTunes now but, lest you still think this is all made up, it's important to note that there have been teaser videos for this thing since May last year, not to mention a wealth of newly released complementary material, including album art and tracklist.
Take a look through the info below to determine whether this might be an X-file you actually want to open or not.

This year is shaping up to be a busy one for Duchovny, who has also just released a book — Holy Cow — and was recently confirmed to return for six new episodes of The X-Files alongside co-star Gillian Anderson.
