The UniBar has once again proven itself to be far more than just a location for University of Adelaide students to grab an affordable knock-off pint on campus. Deservedly nominated at this year’s SA Music Awards for ‘Best Venue,’ the bar is a staple of the Adelaide music scene, having spent years cultivating a welcoming space for emerging artists.

During the dark days of covid, the team behind the UniBar, Adelaide’s beloved cultural institution, developed an open air concert concept to deliver regular gigs whilst restrictions on indoor venues were in place, under the moniker College Green.

The UniBar is pleased to announce that College Green is back and bigger than ever, with a series of thrilling live music parties scheduled for its fiftieth anniversary in 2025, with a diverse line-up of Australian and international electronic and DJ led events to be announced very soon in collaboration with a range of promoters.

Kicking off proceedings on February 15 will be seminal US DJ and producer DJ Shadow, described by Allmusic as having “revolutionised” hip-hop, who is set to perform at the magnificent historical space that is The Cloisters on the university campus. Tickets for the event are already on sale.

The UniBar will also host the Adelaide leg of the Hot Chips DJs national tour, supported by Van She Tech.

Not to mention the fact that AdeLOUD, the student-led music festival hosted by the UniBar, is fast approaching. Icons such as Genesis Owusu, Elsy Wameyo, JamesJamesJames, In2stellar, and more are set to perform on November 16th. The event is just around the corner, and tickets to see these thrilling acts are selling fast.

These events alone - which are just a few of many - mark College Green as a music hosting collective as one to watch out for, and confirm that the Adelaide UniBar is very much a venue worth celebrating.
