Coldplay have shared a teaser for a new single that’s likely called First Time on social media, marking their first release since 2021’s Music Of The Spheres.
In a 20-second snippet posted to X (formerly known as Twitter), vocalist Chris Martin stands before a spinning Ferris wheel and bright lights. He sings in the anthemic chorus accompanied by commanding strings: “It feels like I’m falling in love/ You’re throwing me a lifeline/ Oh, now for the first time/ I know we’re not alone”.
You can watch the teaser below.
The band teased First Time earlier this week, writing on X, “maybe for the first time?” with a pink rose emoji.

First Time might lead the campaign for Coldplay’s forthcoming album, which Martin revealed to be named Moon Music.
In a January 2023 interview with City News, the Yellow singer revealed that Moon Music is the sequel to 2021’s Music Of The Spheres.
“We’re finishing an album called Moon Music, which is the second Music Of The Spheres volume, but that won’t come out for a little bit,” Martin said.
In November, the band invited fans to get involved with a single called One World.
Taking to Instagram, Coldplay wrote that they hope their fans are okay in these “wild times” and shared that Moon Music was “nearly finished”.
“If you'd like to be on it too, perhaps you could add your voice to a song called One World. (We would love that a lot.),” the band wrote. As for how to feature on One World: “All you have to do is record yourself singing ‘Ahhhhh’ for a few seconds at oneworld.coldplay.com. You can either copy the note on the site or sing a G or C in any octave. Thank you so much.
“Love, Chris, Guy, Will and Jonny”.
Coldplay will headline the iconic Glastonbury Festival later this month. In October and November, they will return to Australia and New Zealand for four nights at Melbourne’s Marvel Stadium, four nights at Sydney’s Acor Stadium, and three shows at Auckland’s Eden Park.
