Going from strength to strength, Adelaide favourites Germein today unveil a new video alongside BIGSOUND showcase details fresh from a stint supporting the legendary Tom Jones in the UK.

Premiering via The Music, the sibling trio have unveiled an acoustic version of their latest single, the bold Good For A Girl, which touches on the personal challenges they’ve faced being an all-female band in today’s music industry.

Back when Good For A Girl was first released, Clara noted that, “I went into a music shop to buy drumsticks, and the guy behind the desk asked me if I was buying them for my boyfriend.”

Georgia recalled a time during soundcheck on a national tour: “It was as if we’d surprised the sound guy when we started playing, like he expected us to be bad. At the end of the show he said to us that we were actually pretty good for girls.”

Ella said that they “wanted to write a song that would help tackle these stereotypes, and give a voice to anyone who might be going through a similar experience”.

“It’s about giving girls an equal playing field, and not discriminating based on gender,” Clara added.

It’s an exciting taste of what’s to come next month when Germein hit BIGSOUND for two showcases, the details of which have also been released today:

The Brightside Outdoors - Wed 7 Sep, 9:10pm – 9:40pm

The Sound Garden – Thu 8 Sep, 10:50pm – 11:20pm

And they’ll be in fine form during BIGSOUND following their massive stint supporting Tom Jones this month in the UK.

Speaking with Worcester News last week Georgia said: “It’s surreal to be opening for such a legend like Tom Jones.

“We’ve grown up listening to his songs, so to be sharing a stage with him is mind blowing! He’s such an incredible performer and his show is lots of fun to watch.

“We are having the best time warming up his amazing crowds who have been so kind and welcoming to us.
