"After decades of struggle for acceptance we stand proud and united as we continue to colour and shape music, dance, art, film, design and fashion around the world.”
A brand new event is set to hit Melbourne and Sydney next March, acting as a sister show to the 2022 Annual Sydney Gay & Lesbian Mardi Gras.
Fantabulosa is a nightlong extravaganza of LGBTQIA+ artists and legends, that looks to celebrate the decades of influence the community has had in all aspects of popular culture throughout modern history.
Headlined and hand curated by queer icon Boy George, the show will feature a tonne of live music, dance and so much more, with a special lineup of local acts set to astound.
“Fantabulosa will be about sophistication, high fashion, beautiful music and celebration, and I can’t wait,” George said of proceedings.
“We all know that the power and the creative influence of the LGBTQIA+ community across music, fashion, film, art and design is unmatched in its breadth and depth. After decades of struggle for acceptance we stand proud and united as we continue to colour and shape music, dance, art, film, design and fashion around the world.”
Artists set to join the legendary Culture Club frontperson include drag superstar Courtney Act, multi-genre sensation Mo'Ju, and Sydney/Eora indie sensation Odette, as well as an all star band plus plenty of surprises throughout the evening.
