Queensland’s fruitiest live music event, the Big Pineapple Festival, is back for the tenth time - today announcing the date for their 2025 edition. Marking a decade of championing homegrown music talent, the festival will return to the iconic Pineapple Fields in Woombye on Saturday, November 1.

Confirming they’ll include their signature all Aussie lineup (with a few exceptions), the organisers are yet to reveal this year’s lineup - but with ten years of music to celebrate, it’s sure to be a good one.

“When we started this festival years ago, our goal was to put Australian artists front and centre and create an unforgettable experience for fans,” founder and festival director Mark Pico says.

“To be here over a decade later with the festival stronger than ever and even earning industry awards again…is incredibly humbling. It’s a testament to the amazing community of artists, attendees and partners who have believed in the Big Pineapple Festival from the start.”

Not only does the festival support local musicians, but it bolsters the local economy too - bringing in over ten million dollars to the Sunshine Coast in 2024, according to an independent financial impact survey.

“We are proud to support an occasion that brings our community together and boosts our local economy,” Sunshine Coast Council Mayor Rosanna Natoli says. “Over ten years, this festival has showcased incredible local talent and put our region on the map as a music destination.”

In line with its commitment to the local music scene, this year’s festival will also shine a spotlight on emerging artists. Organisers have announced that the 2025 event will feature a performance by the “Rising Star” winner of the newly established Sunshine Coast Music Awards. This inaugural award program, launching in 2025, will see one up and coming Sunshine Coast artist earn a coveted slot on the Big Pineapple Festival stage.

The 2024 edition of the festival boasted a huge lineup of chart topping homegrown stars such as The Amity Affliction, Tones And I, Bliss n Eso and Peking Duk, marking a triumphant return after a three-year hiatus.
