Australian blues star Frank Sultana will open for Beth Hart on her upcoming Australian tour. The special guest announcement was revealed as tour promoters MJR Presents shared that tickets to Hart’s concert at Melbourne’s (Naarm) Hamer Hall sold out yesterday.
Fans who want to see Hart perform tracks from her latest album, A Tribute To Led Zeppelin, and other hits, as well as renowned bluesman Frank Sultana, had better get in quick, as tickets to Hart’s shows in Sydney (Eora), Adelaide (Kaurna) and Brisbane (Meanjin) are selling fast.
Hart returns to Australia this month. The tour of theatre shows begins on Saturday, 17 February, at the Eatons Hill Hotel in Brisbane, followed by the Adelaide Entertainment Centre on Monday, 19 February, Melbourne’s Hamer Hall on Thursday, 22 February, and Sydney’s Darling Harbour Theatre on Saturday, 24 February.
The LA Song (Out Of This Town) singer landed in Australia last April for a rip-roaring performance at Bluesfest. However, this tour marks Hart’s first range of tour dates down under since February 2019.
In January 2023, Frank Sultana left crowds stunned after he competed for five days and won the International Blues Challenge in Memphis, Tennessee, in the solo/duo category over 148 other applicants.

By winning, Sultana became just the third Australian artist to take home the prestigious award, following in the footsteps of Melbourne legends Fiona Boyes and Jimi Hocking.
Sultana won a $3,500 cash prize and scored guaranteed entry to perform at the following international blues festivals: the Legendary Rhythm & Blues Cruise, Durango Blues Train Colorado, and a Blues Festival Guide advertising package, as well as additional sponsor prizes (per Beat).
Last May, Sultana released his new album, The Ghosts Of Sun, which was recorded in just four hours at the iconic Sun Studios in Memphis. The album spans 12 songs from 12 years of his illustrious career, all re-recorded and stripped back to be as raw (and traditional) as possible: just Frank Sultana and his voice, guitar and stompbox.
Upon announcing her Australian tour, Beth Hart reflected in a press release, “Australia, it always feels like it’s been too long since I’ve been fortunate enough to visit and perform in your beautiful country.
“I’m lucky enough that I’ve been able to tour across Australia several times, but in terms of really getting to know the people or culture - I haven’t been able to soak it in enough. I’m hoping to change that this time around!”
