The ascendant chanteuse kicks off 2016 with a string of east-coast dates and a new industry partnership
Sunshine Coast singer Ayla has announced late January and February east-coast dates for her upcoming When The World Ends tour, as well as her recent signing with renowned industry services provider Upstairs Music.
As her debut release, When The World Ends was only five songs long, but it managed to pack a mountainous punch within that short timespan. Reviewing the EP late last year, The Music’s Roshan Clerke wrote, “Ayla's colourful poetry on songs like House On A Hill and Wish I Was conjures images vibrant enough to match the full sonic palate of expansive production beneath them.”
The young singer-songwriter also stopped by The Music last year to give a rundown on the release herself, with an in-depth track-by-track summary of what to expect from the acclaimed extended play and details of the stories behind it.
Following her recent performances in the triple j studios and at Woodford Folk Festival, Ayla will be playing in Melbourne, Sydney, Sunshine Coast, and Brisbane as part of its Mountain Goat Valley Crawl Festival, with free shows in Surry Hills, Newcastle, and Byron Bay along the way.
