This could be the start of something.
If you’re in high school and are a budding film composer then listen up because entries for Queensland Music Festival's 2018 ScoreIT! competition have just opened.
Open to anyone in years 7 - 12, students will be required to submit their original written score for a short film produced by Griffith Film School.
From there, submissions will be put before an expert panel, including Katie Noonan, Cameron Patrick, known for orchestrating films such as Spider-Man: Homecoming, Star Trek Into Darkness and Jurassic World as well as industry leaders from around Queensland.
The lucky finalists will then be invited to take part in exclusive workshops and masterclasses leading up to the awards ceremony where the winning score will be performed by a live orchestra.
