It's been confirmed that controversial US artist Ariel Pink was in attendance at yesterday's Capitol Building riot in Washington, DC.
According to NME, Pink has stated that he attended the pro-Trump event to "peacefully show his support for the president" and that he was not involved in the riots that saw protesters break into the Capitol Building.
“I was in dc to peacefully show my support for the president," said Pink in a comment online. "i attended the rally on the white house lawn and went back to hotel and took a nap. case closed."
"Welcome to the panoptigan," Pink posted to Twitter. "they wasted no time...save yourselves friends, cancel me now and turn me in before they come for you."
It's believed that US artist John Maus attended the protest with Pink and director Alex Lee Moyer. Maus is yet to comment on his involvement.

Yesterday saw speculation that Jon Schaffer, guitarist for metal group Iced Earth, was one of the rioters who breached the Capitol Building.
Speculation started early yesterday that Schaffer - who has been open about his support of outgoing US President Donald Trump and has previously been seen wearing Confederate Flag paraphernalia - was involved in the riots when a photo circulated online of a man with a similar appearance to Schaffer.
According to Blabbermouth, it's believed that Schaffer has since been identified by a German newspaper. Read the full story here.
