A stack of local acts are expected to see albums debut on the chart this week.
Amyl & The Sniffers are well on their way to secure their first-ever #1 album.
According to mid-week figures, the Melbourne punk band are expected to make this week's highest debut on the ARIA Albums Chart where they're currently placed for at least the Top 3 with their latest album, Comfort To Me.
The album follows on from their 2019 debut self-titled album which landed at #22 on the chart on debut.
"The amount of time and thought I put into the lyrics for this album is completely different from the EPs, and even the first record. Half of the lyrics were written during the Australian Bushfire season, when we were already wearing masks to protect ourselves from the smoke in the air," said frontwoman Amy Taylor of the album.
"And then when the pandemic hit, our options were the same as everyone: go find a day job and work in intense conditions or sit at home and drown in introspection. I fell into the latter category. I had all this energy inside of me and nowhere to put it, because I couldn’t perform, and it had a hectic effect on my brain. My brain evolved and warped and my way of thinking about the world completely changed..."

It's tough competition at the top of the chart though, with last week's #1 Drake still proving popular around the globe.
A stack of local acts are expected to see their albums debut on the chart this week, with Pist Idiots' Idiocracy looking at Top 10, The Black Sorrows' Saint Georges Road for Top 20, Drapht's Shadows & Shinings is likely for Top 40, while Gurrumul's The Gurrumul Story compilation and Jack Ladder & The Dreamlanders' Hijack! are both looking at Top 50.
Looking at the Singles Chart, Ed Sheeran's Shivers is expected to debut in the Top 10, while The Voice Australia 2021 winner Bella Taylor Smith is likely for Top 30 with her single Higher. Tai Verdes is looking at Top 40 for A-O-K, while The Anxiety's Meet Me At Our Spot is expected for Top 50.
